In a society that’s becoming increasingly aware of global anxieties and the responsibility we all have to reduce our impact on the environment, it’s no surprise that this season’s theme was focused around modern minimalism and all things au naturel.

At Bottega Veneta, the collection embodied ‘90s refinement, focusing on elegance and wearability rather than extravagance. The same could be said for Acne Studios, where models were draped in neutral textures and hues, provoking feelings of the natural environment. For Burberry, heritage print and sharp tailoring reminded us of the traditional codes of the British design house.

At Isabel Marant, it was tribal-meets-utilitarian that reigned supreme, and Balenciaga’s theatrical approach to the political environment that forced us to reconsider alternative meanings of power dressing. Finally, at Stella McCartney, with the eponymous designer being newly appointed as the sustainability advisor to Bernard Arnault of the LVMH group, the overarching theme surrounded Mother Nature, with 75 percent of the collection made from eco-friendly materials.
