Jacquemus, bienvenue to Harrolds

A nonchalant nod to France’s whimsical South, Jacquemus is one of the most coveted names in modern outfitting.

Harrolds is honoured to be bringing a new frontier of Provençal-chic dressing into its ever-growing wardrobe for AW21, with a range notionally named “the Montagne” (read: the mountain). The collection is available online at Harrolds.com.au.

For man and woman, Jacquemus has arrived in a flurry of French style. Renowned for statement-making runways in lavender-laden fields and brightly-painted accessories, a lot may blunder when pronouncing the cult designer’s name, but they certainly know it.

Laissez-faire, ethereal, wearable and playful
It is crucial to balance the selection to showcase seasonal must-haves with pieces and shapes that are Iconic to the brand

“When putting together a range – especially from one as wonderful as Jacquemus, it is crucial to balance the selection to showcase seasonal must-haves (the Paiou Shearling jacket and Ciuciu Bags are personal favourites) with pieces and shapes that are Iconic to the brand,” says Harrolds’ Womenswear Buyer Roshali Kaul.

Laissez-faire, ethereal, wearable and playful, the label brings Riviera style to the wardrobes of the city dweller looking to pare things back.

As Vogue’s Sarah Mower remarked after the debut of Jacquemus cool-weather collection, “…the Montagne of his title might resonate with everyone who’s been on that vertiginous, lonely hike through isolation from friends all this time (while putting aside the thought that, as mountaineers know, there’s always another unexpected peak to conquer as you go).”

We’re certainly drawing parallels with the mountain metaphor and the peaks and troughs we’ve encountered in the last year. Tour some of the crème de la crème in our playbook below. It’s colour, it’s coolness, it’s a touch of je ne sais quoi.

Surrender to soft fabrics and quirky prints through the transportive fashion that is Simon Porte Jacquemus’ invention, shopable now online or in-store at Harrolds.
