The below press report was released by The Known Agency, on behalf of one of Harrolds’ stocked fashion brands, aaizél.

Launched with a debut presence at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week (AAFW) 2022, the new aaizél Resort ‘23 collection was unveiled onsite at Carriageworks, Gallery 2, on Monday 9th May, 2022. Anchored by a theme of identity, self-expression, and fearless style, the captivating Runway Show opened with model and IMG changemaker Hanan Ibrahim. A celebrated advocate for diversity and inclusion, Hanan proactively utilises her empowering voice to leverage fashion as a cultural catalyst.

Words alone cannot describe the thrill of participating at AAFW. aaizél’s collections are ethically designed and produced in Melbourne – the Runway Show saluted the arrival of the new Resort ’23 collection, and the local, world-class manufacturers and workshops that I collaborate with. For me, there’s something special about designing a Resort collection – it’s always a celebration of togetherness, big blue skies, balmy starry nights, and effortless style”, says Founding Designer Minhee Jo.

Proudly designed and produced in Melbourne, Australia, aaizél has become synonymous with immaculate tailoring, unexpected detailing, and dresses that evoke absolute sensuality. The new Resort ’23 collection represents the Designer’s infatuation with colour and its refraction through light.

The collection’s colour palette comprises seasonless classics – Black, White, Charcoal and Beige, that are accented by fresh pops of Aqua, Emerald, and mouth-watering Tangerine.

Colour is omnipresent in our lives - it can influence mood and shape perceptions.

Colour is omnipresent in our lives – it can influence mood and shape perceptions. I was inspired by the works of experimental artists including Olafur Eliasson’s ‘Reimagine’ installation, James Turrell’s mesmerising ‘Sustaining Light’ series, and Dan Flavin’s minimalist, fluorescent light fixtures. Their illusory compositions shaped the palette and the form of the new collection”, says Minhee.
