Boring footwear gets the boot
With the rise of cult boots brand Paris Texas came a wave of technicolour and unapologetic stiletto heel calf-crawlers, coloured in lurid hues, made with mastery and adorned by racy animal prints.
New York label Khaite features a more trans-seasonal offering with Italian-made, cream leather kitten heel boots. Note the exaggerated pointed toe and an elasticated topline that crops them snug at the ankle for effortless wear with wide-leg tailoring and lofty dresses.
And while the stiletto reigns supreme this season, Maison Margiela and Alexander McQueen revive the chunkier approach from years past. The former retains its signature ‘tabi’ style of a spliced toe, while the latter opts for stark monochromatic contrast and tactful elastication for easy slip-offs.
